The European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan - A CCK Foundation Overseas Center at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen will hold a workshop for emerging young scholars from 30 June to 7 July, 2019. Applicants shall be Ph.D. students (3rd year and above) and postdocs and are particularly encouraged to submit proposals related to the workshop’s leading topic on "China's New Sharp Power: Consequences for Taiwan and Europe". However, submissions on any other topic in the field of social science research on contemporary Taiwan or Cross-strait relations are welcomed as well. The workshop will provide young scholars with the opportunity to

  • present their research to an international audience
  • engage in scholarly exchange on theory and methodology
  • get to know Tübingen, the CCKF-ERCCT and its university;

Travel expenses and accommodation will be fully covered by the CCKF-ERCCT. Successful applicants are required to submit a research paper after the workshop to be published online in the CCKF-ERCCT Online Paper Series.
