ACLS Programs in China Studies
ACLS administers the Henry Luce Foundation/ACLS Program in China Studies and Comparative Perspectives on Chinese Culture and Society of the Chiang Ching Kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange.
Since 2012, the Henry Luce Foundation/ACLS Program in China Studies has supported research, writing, and collaborative reading of texts by scholars in North America. It is funded by a generous grant from the Henry Luce Foundation, with additional funding for Early Career Fellowships (formerly Postdoctoral Fellowships) from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
The Luce/ACLS Program in China Studies holds Early Career Seminars for Luce/ACLS Fellows to discuss their work in progress and the changing conditions for research in China.
Since 2004, Comparative Perspectives on Chinese Culture and Society has assisted the organization of planning meetings, workshops, and conferences that adopt explicitly cross-cultural or comparative perspectives.
Please note that the ACLS Online Fellowship and Grant Administration System (OFA) for the Henry Luce Foundation/ACLS Program in China Studies 2020-21 competitions is now open for applications.
