ERC Starting Grant mentoring event

Un événement de "mentorat" est organisé le 21 septembre prochain par la Young Academy Europe en format virtuel pour des chercheurs, notamment en SHS, qui souhaitent postuler pour une Starting Grant de l'ERC. https://yacadeuro.org/erc-starting-grant-mentoring-event/

Les sessions ont pour but de fournir des conseils et un soutien aux jeunes candidats en les mettant en contact avec des mentors qui ont suivi avec succès le processus. Après une première partie de l'événement consacrée à des informations générales communes à tous les candidats, une des sessions de l'après-midi sera dédiée spécifiquement aux SHS. Cet événement s'adresse en priorité aux chercheurs membres des pays de l'EU13 (=récents états membres) et pays associés à Horizon Europe mais les autres chercheurs intéressés peuvent néanmoins s'inscrire.

La Young Academy Europe

La YAE a été fondée en 2012, avec pour mission de contribuer aux échanges scientifiques et à la politique scientifique dans tous les États membres de l'Union européenne ou d'un pays associé. Les membres de la YAE sont des experts et des leaders dans leurs domaines respectifs, qui cherchent à apporter une perspective de "jeune chercheur" sur l'avenir de la science et du monde universitaire en Europe.

L'événement

This online event hosted by the Young Academy of Europe (YAE) on 21st September 2020 welcomes researchers from EU13 and Associated Countries who are interested in applying for a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant.

The event will start with a plenary information session for potential applicants and a short Q&A with a representative from the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA). This is followed by three parallel sessions focusing on each ERC research domain: Physical Sciences & Engineering (PE), Life Sciences (LS), and Social Sciences & Humanities (SH). These sessions will be moderated by YAE members holding ERC grants who will give an overview of the domains, answer questions, and get to know the participants looking for mentors.

Participants from other countries may register, but priority will be given to researchers whose prospective Host Institution is located within the EU13 and Horizon Associated Countries, and who are planning to apply in the January 2021 call.
