👤European Association for Southeast Asian Studies (EuroSEAS)
📅 date limite : 15 November 2023
📍Venue: Roeterseiland Campus, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The European Association for Southeast Asian Studies (EuroSEAS) will hold its 13th conference at the University of Amsterdam, Roeterseiland Campus in the centre of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from 23 July to 25 July 2024, with the option to join an excursion and guided tour on 26 July.
As an international and multi-disciplinary scholarly organisation, EuroSEAS invites scholars and PhD students (if supported by a senior) from all academic disciplines with an interest in Southeast Asia to submit panels that explore relevant research topics from an interdisciplinary perspective as well as discuss theoretical and methodological aspects of research generated in the field of Southeast Asian Studies.
Proposals are invited for classical panels, roundtable discussions, laboratories that would develop cross-disciplinary collaboration, and for screenings with academic discussion of documentaries or artistic movies on various topics from Southeast Asia. More experimental formats are also welcome (see also 5. Alternative panel formats). In any regard, we ask all the convenors to briefly name, describe and explain their choice of format in their proposal.
Proposals for panels, roundtables and laboratories do not need a list of participants yet, just a description of the chosen format, an abstract and a convener will do. However, please note that panels should reflect a variety in the national/regional background and home institutions of the participants.
Please note that each participant is allowed to present only one paper in one panel. Performing additional roles such as convener, roundtable member and/or discussant is possible, but please consider that they may cause organisational difficulties.
